Casting Design

Industry-leading CAD resources enable specialist casting development engineers to work directly from raw component native data in STEP, CATIA, Pro E and SOLIDWORKS files. The raw casting model is optimised, adding machining allowance, radii and draft allowance and gating system ready for virtual casting simulation validation.

MAGMASOFT© Virtual Casting Simulation

Utilising MAGMASOFT© virtual simulation software allows for casting feasibility before prototype manufacture by analysing solidification, mould filling, defect identification and stress analysis in both the as cast and heat-treated condition.

Specialist method engineers utilise the latest 3D CAD software to optimise casting design and create optimal mould assembly packages complete with precise split lines, core layouts and clearances that are dimensionally accurate and repeatable.

3D Sand Printing

Metrological &
NDT Validation

Advanced metrology and non-destructive testing facility provides powerful optical CMM scanning, 2D radio tomography and 3D computed tomography inspection, ensuring high-integrity castings every time.

Metallurgical
Testing & Analysis

Material Control is monitored by continual metallurgical analysis in our in-house metallurgy laboratory, equipped with non-ferrous and ferrous spectrometers, microscopes for examination of microstructures and tensile testing machines.

CNC Machining
& Assembly

State-of-the-art CNC machining facility, machining complex geometry, close tolerance components in a wide range of material grades.

CMM Dimensional Verification

Sand Casting

Finecast develops, engineers, and manufactures complex, high-integrity, fully machined sand cast components for the automotive, motorsport, aerospace, and defence industries worldwide.

From our manufacturing facility in Littlehampton, West Sussex, United Kingdom, we provide a full-service, one-stop solution for the most technically challenging cast components.

We manufacture castings in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, including all aerospace and commercial aluminium alloys, austenitic stainless steels for heat, wear, and corrosion resistance, nodular SG iron, flake and austenitic graphite irons, and non-ferrous copper-based alloys.

Our capabilities allow us to rapidly produce fully finished machined castings ranging from 100mm to 2.5m sq, with a minimum wall thickness of 2.5mm. The typical turnaround time for first-off 3D printed mould castings is 2 to 3 weeks.

Committed to supporting our customers at every stage of the manufacturing journey, we employ a “make-like-production” approach for rapid prototyping and initial production phase builds, continuing through to scheduled production volumes of up to 5,000 units.
